Anvil Studios, Inc is the award-winning industrial design team behind the ALEX Bottle’s beautiful simplicity and the ultra-slippery, iconic Kestrel 4000LTD timetrial bicycle. We are a boutique design firm providing contemporary, elegant, and appropriate product solutions for large corporations, innovative start-ups and individual entrepreneurs across a broad range of categories and industries.
We believe good design is a balance between strong visceral appeal, the precision of well engineered products and an iconic identity. We help develop product solutions for a wide range of industries, including Consumer Electronics, Housewares, Sports/Recreation, and Professional Equipment. Our backgrounds and diverse collection of clients, industries, and products gives our approach a richness not found at every design studio.
Our process is a balanced blend between analog and digital. We like using pencils and begin each project with a big brainstorming sketch session, often expanding our team for a breadth of ideas and concepts. We also really like picking and clicking in 3D. We jump into CAD as early as possible; utilizing modern 3D printing technologies to rapidly generate real-world models and efficiently iterate on refinements, proportions and details.
Have Laptop, Will Travel is our motto. This allows us to serve our clients virtually or in-person anywhere around the globe. No kidding. Once we had a full design review with Greg in Australia, Treasure in Seattle, and the client’s team spread between Santa Cruz and Aspen (yeah, Skype is cool). Even though our studio is physically located in Seattle, we work closely with clients from Philadelphia to San Diego, and designers from Seattle to Shanghai (and a few places in between).
Contact us today to get started on your own iconic, award-winning designs!
Anvil Studios, Inc. is a design partnership (okay, okay, its really an S-Corp for legal and tax purposes) between two design school buddies, Greg Janky and Treasure Hinds, who have been swapping philosophy and design visions over beers (eventually graduating to martinis) ever since graduating from Western Washington University towards the end of last century (yes we are starting to get gray hair).
While Greg and Treasure are the foundation of Anvil, we collaborate with an established and international network of talented, creative experts. We tailor our team for individual project requirements to ensure innovation, creativity and efficiency. Our network includes senior-level industrial designers, concept artists, design researchers, user experience and branding designers, mechanical engineers and manufacturers.
If you have any questions regarding our approach, are ready to begin a design collaboration, or just want to say “hi”, please contact us anytime via either email or phone!

Anvil Studios is based in Seattle, Washington, in the rainy, grey Pacific Northwest. Our design studio is located in the heart of this over-caffeinated city’s hipster neighborhood, Capitol Hill’s Pike-Pine Triangle. We are within a block of the amazing Marination Station, Oddfellow’s, Rancho Bravo, Cafe Vita and Quinn’s Gastro-pub. Yes, indeed we enjoy eating good food and drinking good drinks. Come visit, the first round is on us!
